PLEASE DO NOT THANK ME FOR FAVES or LLAMAS, and please also note that I will NO LONGER be thanking YOU!!
Please read on if you would like to understand my rationale!
I have been a member of DA for some time now, and thoroughly enjoy my participation.
I relish the opportunity to respond personally to people who either Fave an image, or make a comment etc.
Indeed, every Fave or comment I receive I see as a wonderful endorsement of my work, and, like all of us, I really do appreciate them.
Of course the downside of this is the time it takes to physically sit and type out a response to each and every one of (for example today 164) Feedback messages. Sure, a few of these require no response, but the vast majority do. Wherever possible, I do try to use specific Emoticons to reduce the response to a minimum, while conveying an appropriate message but even so, the sheer amount of time it takes me to to do this, is becoming simply overwhelming I'm sorry to say
I have noticed that other DA Members have solved this by means of a Journal, and it is with much reluctance that I am compelled to do likewise.
However, `what's good for the Goose, is good for the Gander' as the saying goes.
So I would like to propose the following. If I fave YOU WORK, or give you a LLAMA , please DO NOT feel compelled to thank me! I will do likewise. This will save each of us some time. I will, however, continue to thank those who add me to their DevWatch. Should you choose to thank me, then I thank you here and now for that, but will no longer do so on a one-to-one basis.
Certainly I will continue to respond to comments when and where necessary, but let's save ourselves much valuable time by reducing the perceived obligations to one another by adopting an agreed policy, does that seem fair and reasonable? Will you be offended? (I hope not!).
I hope, of course, that people will take a few minutes to read this, but that if they don't, they won't feel too offended by the lack of response from me!! It's nothing personal, I just honestly don't have the time to offer a `personalised' service for routine interactions here on DA
So, in summary, I am talking Feedback messages here. If you Fave my images or give me a LLama, I will be delighted, but will not respond. If you add me to your DevWatch, I will thank you.
Please don't take offence

Woopeeee!
Well, I more or less had an idea what presents were likely to be forthcoming at Christmas, so imagine my surprise when I was presented with a Canon EOS 70D and EF-S 55-250mm Zoom Lens!! Totally unexpected, and a very well kept secret!!
Thank you to my wife Mary for making my day!!
Gobsmacked :)
I really haven't had much opportunity to use it yet, but needless to say, I'm sure looking forward to playing with my new toy!! :)
Best wishes for the festive season!!
Well, my wife and I will be spending the festive season with family ~joyplz (https://www.deviantart.com/joyplz)
In my case, this means that I will not be around DA for a little while :iconsadplz:
We are off tomorrow (Saturday 21 December) and will not return until the first week of the New Year :)
I would therefore like to take the opportunity to thank all my friends and watchers for their kindness, help and support throughout 2013. May I wish you and your families all the very best for the forthcoming festive season, whatever your customs and beliefs. This is a time for families I think, please enjoy it.
Look forward to `seeing' you all in 2014 (my 66th year....Scary!!!!
Computer resurrected!!
I am delighted to say that my poorly computer has now, following extensive refurbishment, been returned to it's original high spec (well I hope so anyway!!).
I look forward to uploading some of the images which have spent the last three months residing in my camera!! ~seeyouplz (https://www.deviantart.com/seeyouplz)
Glooooommmm!!
As some of you may already know, my computer died (big time!) a few days ago, so I am resigned to using my wife's laptop for the forseeable future, which means that there will be no uploads for a while I'm afraid :( I hope to resolve the problem as soon a possible, but there are questions to be asked of course. It's fairly old (6yrs) so should I attempt to repair or just replace? What are the relative costs likely to be (after all, replacing may be cheaper than repairing :)).
Either way, it neeeds some research and thought.
I will certainly continue to visit DA on a regular basis, and continue taking pictures in the meanwhile for subsequen
